HAPPY NEW YEAR BOOK GIVEAWAY!

My Books -> Your Classroom or Library!

Hey, it's giveaway time again! Every time I publish a book, I get a box of author copies and inevitably, most of them end up in my office closet. One of my New Year's resolutions is to downsize, and I think these books would be much happier in classrooms and libraries!

OKAY READY? TEACHERS! LIBRARIANS! STUDENTS! PARENTS OF STUDENTS! Want some free books? YES YOU DO. All you have to do is comment on this page, or on the posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and I will send you your choice of up to 2 books (only one hardcover per person, alas, as I need them to fit into the padded mailers I have.)

Just leave a comment letting me know which books you want and for what school (and why those books, if you're so inclined) and also either WHERE TO SEND THEM or an email address where we can follow up. AND THEN I WILL SEND YOU THE BOOKS (I may need to send you second choices if I run out of stuff; we'll talk!)

Here are the available books:

Happy new year!
Kevin

  1. Hi Kevin,
I am now teaching 7th grade English. My students would love any titles you could send us for our classroom library! You are so very kind to do this. I talk up your titles with book talks all the time and share that you visited our school years ago.

  5. Hi from Spain!! I'm a student of English Philology and my mum is a teacher in a bilingual high school. We are always looking for books written in English that students like me can find easy to read because, to be honest, a 16-years-old guy don't want to read Shakespeare anymore (by now). I'm so interested in this because my university doesn't have to much money, but I think it's more important for my mother because in her high school's library there isn't many books and that could be a great opportunity.

    Thank you!!

  6. Hi! I would love ANY copies you would be able to share! I am starting to rebuild our classroom library (I previously taught Dual Immersion), so my bookcases still look a little sad. I have avid readers and I am working on making sure they have a wide variety of reading choices. THANK YOU!

I currently work with 7th grade students who are avid readers but also some of the most reluctant readers and these books look like they would be a great fit to reinforce their reading! I would love any of these titles! I work at...

Hi Kevin, I have Carlos is Gonna Get it. So I'd love a copy of any of the others. I have gotten grant money the last 2 years to build a classroom library for my intervention room. It is becoming the place to be even for students who don't require intervention. I work with 1-6 graders Please send your choice

  12. Hi Kevin,

I'm not sure if this is only open to schools, but we would love some books for the children's department of our public library! Any of these would be great! Breakout and the Exile series would be especially good, but our patrons would appreciate any of them, I think. We do already have Carlos is Gonna Get It. You can send them to:

  13. Hey Kevin,
I currently teach literature for 6th, 7th, and 8th at Westside Christian School. We recently received encore to an empty room as a donation not knowing it was part of a trilogy. We would love to complete the series with Exile and Finding Abbey Road if you still have some. If not, any books would be much appreciated for my classroom. Thank you for the opportunity!

I loved Any Second, but I'm not sure my fifth graders can handle it. If you have anything for a younger audience, I would greatly appreciate a book. If not, I completely understand.

  15. Hi Kevin,

I teach 5th grade and always welcome any books for our personal library- I hit my gal Tina up for them too ;) . I also have our own three kids grades 5, 7, and 9, and we donate books to their school libraries when we are finished reading them. We are not picky!

Thank you for your teacher support!

My students are fans of your Atlaneans series, and we would love to have any or all of the other books you have available to donate. 18. Hi Kevin,

I am the librarian at Brown Middle School in Newton, MA. I came across this post when trying to find when the third book in your Chronicle of the Dark Star series in being released. Our copy of The Oceans Between Stars was lost, and my students would love to see it replaced! A copy of Exile would be great as well! It's a title that is popular in teachers' classroom libraries, but our school library doesn't yet have it in the collection.
